Two people suffered non-fatal injuries in a shooting incident that occurred in Jersey City Wednesday afternoon.
Police say at approximately 3:25 p.m., gunfire erupted near 428 Grand Street, prompting a police investigation.
Several police units arrived at the scene and found two victims suffering gunshot wounds in the area.
The injured were transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment while officers canvassed the scene for additional victims and evidence.
Police say bullets struck a building at 420 Grand Street, but no one inside suffered injuries.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no arrests have been reported.
