Police officials in Newark are reporting the arrest of Felix A. Peralta, 22, and Lemel Battles, 18, both of Newark, for a robbery that occurred yesterday.
According to police, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Newark Police Division Sergeant J. Dopazo of the 3rd Precinct was traveling in the 100-block of Adams Street when a man flagged down his patrol vehicle and reported that he had been robbed of his cash by two men.
Officials say Sgt. Dopazo observed two men fitting the description of the suspects in the area.
Police immediately arrested Peralta and Battles, then charged them Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
These charges are merely accusations.
Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
