Residents in Newark's Central Ward witnessed a devastating motorcycle crash on Saturday that claimed the life of a young man.
RLS Media has now learned the victim's identity as Mr. Caliph Manns, a 27-year-old resident of Newark.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. and Eagles Parkway. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office officials revealed that the collision involved a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle. Upon receiving reports of the crash, both police and EMS rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered a scene of immense tragedy.
The motorcycle rider, Mr. Manns, had been ejected from his bike and had sustained severe injuries. Despite the efforts of the emergency medical personnel, Mr. Manns could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Essex County Prosecutor's Office officials said no other serious injuries were reported as a result of the crash. However, the loss of Mr. Manns has left a void in the community and a family in mourning.
