Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department said three men have been apprehended on charges of robbing and fatally stabbing a city man outside his apartment complex.
They are being held on charges of murder and robbery have been identified as Manuel “Manny” Maldonado, 20, Jose David “Sparky” Vasquez-Rivera, 18, and Xavier “Caballo” Sanchez-Parral, 18, all of New Brunswick.
The three were apprehended during an intensive investigation into the robbery and fatal stabbing of Enrique Perez Galindo, 29, of New Brunswick.
He was stabbed and robbed of cash outside his apartment on Hamilton Street in New Brunswick at about 2:30 a.m. on February 25, 2017.
Police said he managed to return to his apartment, where he died. He was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m.
The charges are mere allegations lodged against the suspects. They are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The homicide is being investigated by Detective Drew Weiss of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective David Abromaitis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
