UPDATE: Suspects Sought for Newark North Ward Pharmacy Robbery of Oxycodone

Police in Newark requests the public’s help in Identifying two suspects wanted in an armed pharmacy robbery that occurred yesterday.

According to police, at approximately 3:40 p.m., two black males entered a pharmacy, located at 654 Mt. Prospect Avenue, pulled ski masks over their faces, pointed a gun at the workers and demanded “Oxy 30.”

The suspects stole narcotics and an undetermined amount of cash from the pharmacy before fleeing on foot, headed southbound on Mt. Prospect Avenue towards Elwood Avenue.

The suspects then entered an older model black 2-door Honda Civic parked at Elwood Avenue and Clifton Avenue and drove away, headed southbound on Clifton Avenue according to police.

The first suspect is described as 6-ft. tall with a dark complexion. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans with rips, white sneakers and a black ski mask.

Police say this suspect brandished a handgun during the robbery.

The second suspect is described as 5’10” tall with a medium brown complexion. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt over a white shirt, dark shorts, black sneakers and a dark-colored ski mask.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, we seek the public’s help in quickly identifying them as part of this investigation.
