Newark Police officials request the public’s help identifying suspects who robbed and assaulted a city resident at gunpoint on January 11.
Police said at approximately 1 a.m., police responded to a call about a robbery in progress at a Bank of America ATM on Adams Street.
When they arrived, the victim told officers that as he was making a deposit, two men approached him and one of them stuck a weapon into the side of his body and demanded money.
According to police, after the victim complied, the suspects punched the man in the face several times and kicked him when he fell to the ground.
The victim was taken to University Hospital and treated for his injuries.
Suspect “A,” who had the gun, is 5’8,’’ Hispanic with a light complexion, medium build and has a heavy Spanish accent.
Police say he was wearing all black clothing, a ski mask, and red, white and blue colored Nike sneakers.
Suspect “B” is described as heavy set and 5’8” – 5’9.’’ He has a medium to dark complexion and was wearing grey sweat pants, a black sweatshirt with a hood, sneakers and a black ski mask.
