Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department said that authorities are searching for three men wanted for questioning in connection to a shooting which resulted in the death of one man, and seriously injured another man in the early morning hours of March 23, 2019.
Officials say, Nahshon Brown, 31, of Newark was pronounced dead at the scene. In addition, a 40-year-old man from Newark was taken to the hospital where he is currently being treated for a gunshot wound to the head and remains in stable condition.
The shooting took place outside the Akbar Restaurant located on Cortland Street in Edison where an event was being held to honor the birthday of a man who was shot dead in front of a restaurant in Maplewood in March of 2018. Police were alerted to the shooting at approximately 1:56 am.
Prosecutor Carey and Police Chief Thomas Bryan are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the three men.
