UPDATE: Shooting in Irvington Township Claims Life of Young East Orange Man, Search Underway

A young man was fatally shot early Monday morning in Irvington Township, triggering an ongoing investigation led by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.Puerto Rican

The deadly encounter occurred around 1:22 a.m. when Irvington police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at a building in the 300 block of 21st Street.

Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly stated that upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Mr. Quashawn Moses from East Orange suffering from gunshot wounds.

Mr. Moses was quickly transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:59 a.m.

The suspect responsible for the shooting fled the scene and remains at large.

Detectives from Irvington Township are collaborating with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office (ECPO) in the search for the suspect. As of early Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made.

The investigation into this incident continues, with local law enforcement urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in resolving this case.
