Newark authorities are actively investigating a drive-by shooting that rattled a West Ward neighborhood late Monday night.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 11:07 p.m. in the vicinity of 251 18th Avenue, where a ShotSpotter device detected multiple rounds of gunfire.
Responding officers arrived at the scene and secured the area after locating shell casings. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle occupied by the suspect speeding away from the scene immediately after the shooting.

After an extensive search of the neighborhood, police confirmed that no injuries were reported.
As of now, the suspect remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
