A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr. Gualberto Lebron, 32, of Newark who is wanted for a domestic-related aggravated assault that occurred on May 5th where now the victim is missing.
According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, the suspect and the victim engaged in a verbal confrontation when Lebron allegedly attacked then choked Ms. Julia Vega but she managed to escape.
Detectives from the Special Victims Section investigating this incident have secured a warrant for Lebron’s arrest on charges of aggravated assault but are looking for Ms. Vega who has not been heard from since the incident.
While police are actively searching for Lebron, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing Lebron from city streets and returning Ms. Vega to her family and friends.
