Police in Newark are continuing to seek the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect who attempted to rob a pregnant woman on Wednesday.

According to police, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the woman walked with another woman and a child in the 400-block of Market Street when she was approached by a male who grabbed her neck in an attempt to steal her gold chain.
Police say the women struggled with the suspect before he fled on foot while the pregnant victim suffered bruises.
The unidentified man is black, approximately 40 years old, 6-ft. tall and 170 lbs.
Police say the suspect wore a tan coat, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark boots.
