Update: Rapper, Fetty Wap, Suffers Leg Injury in Paterson Crash

A weekend motorcycle accident involving rapper, Fetty Wap, had fans and the Paterson community that saw him grow up sending prayers his way.

Soon after news ran that the rapper had been involved in a accident, Wap (Willie Maxwell), took to Instagram Sunday to update fans on his condition.

"Appreciate ya so much for the prayers … they told me don't make a video but I'm still breathing so I gotta let ya no I'll be back," the rapper said through an Instagram video.

Police responded to the area Park Avenue near East 31st Street for a report of a motorcycle accident.

Investigation revealed that Maxwell, who was driving a motorcycle, struck the side of a vehicle, occupied by an unidentified woman, who was waiting to make a left-hand turn at the intersection.

Both Maxwell and the female driver were transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Maxwell was cited for driving without a license, not having insurance and failing to produce a vehicle registration card.

He, attended Eastside High School, has held three Top-10 songs within the last year.
