Authorities have released the identity of a 30-year-old woman struck and killed by a vehicle as she attempted to cross road Thursday night.
Officials said Jessica Principe, 30, of Rahway, was attempting to cross Lake Avenue near its intersection with Madison Avenue shortly after 7 p.m., when she was struck by a Lexus.
According to police, she sustained severe head trauma and was airlifted to University Hospital in Newark, where she succumbed to her injuries Friday.
Officials said the driver has not been charged.
Police are still investigating the accident and are asking anyone with information to contact Rahway Police Officer William Oplinger at (732) 827-2073.
