Police officials are investigating a porch collapse that injured several people in Newark's North Ward on Sunday evening.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, the incident occurred at approximately 6:29 p.m.
Police responded to a residence on Kearny Street near Summer Avenue following a report of a porch staircase collapse that left eight adults injured.
The victims were transported to University Hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation by Newark authorities.
