Newark Police officials request the public’s help in identifying the pictured male at the scene of a 3-alarm fire at 121 South 11th Street that occurred on Friday, December 18.
According to police, at 11:04 a.m., firefighters responded to the fire, at a 2-story residential building.
A second alarm was called at 11:13 a.m. and the third alarm was reported at 11:21 a.m.
The fire extended to two adjacent residences at 119 South 11th Street and 123 South 11th Street with some 90 firefighters responding.
A 15-year-old male was transported to University Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. He is reportedly in stable condition.
Police say one family has been relocated, including one adult and four children. The fire was considered under control at 12:15 p.m.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation by the Newark Fire Division’s Arson Unit. Detectives obtained video footage of a male, believed to be a squatter, leaving121 South 11th Street prior to the fire.
Police say the suspect is described as Black, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, green coat, dark pants and black boots.
