Police recovered a vehicle stolen at a location in Newark's North Ward that belonged to an off-duty law enforcement officer on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, a thief made off with the officer's white 2018 Honda Accord from the 80's block of Oraton Street before 3:30 a.m.
The vehicle had equipment and items used by the officer for his job assignment, but no weapons were reportedly left in the car.
Newark Police officers patrolling the 30's block of South 13th Street located the unoccupied car shortly before 2:10 a.m. according to reports.
The incident is under investigation.
