Police in Newark recovered a vehicle used during a violent shootout in Newark's West Ward on Saturday.
The broad daylight shooting happened around 4 p.m. in the vicinity of 755 South Orange Avenue.
Officers were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of multiple rounds of shots fired near the intersection of Columbia Avenue.
Police arrived and taped off South Orange Avenue after finding about two dozen shell casings and two weapons after cops canvassed the scene.
Witnesses say about three suspects involved in the shooting fled the scene in a white Alfa Romeo. Police located the parked and unoccupied car in the 100 block of Sylvan Avenue around 6:45 Sunday.
Two individuals were detained at the shooting scene, but police have not officially announced charges at this time.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
