Elizabeth police confirmed they are investigating after a child was struck by a vehicle last night.
According to a statement released by Elizabeth city Spokeswoman Kelly Martins, police shortly after 8 p.m., responded to Rahway Avenue and South Street for a report of a struck pedestrian.
Spokeswoman Martins said the 9-year-old juvenile was crossing the street on a bicycle when they were struck by a white Honda Accord with Connecticut licence plates.
Officials say the juvenile was treated at the scene with an abrasion to the chin. The juvenile’s father said they would go to the hospital at a later time if needed.
According to authorities, the juvenile was able to take a picture of the license plate, so it is under investigation at this time.
