Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Montclair Police Chief Todd M. Conforti announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Montclair Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle incident that resulted in the death of Maya Moar, a 26-year-old au pair from Holon, Israel who was working for a Montclair family.
According to police, the incident occurred at Grove Street and Mt. Hebron Road at approximately 6 p.m. where authorities say it appeared, based on the preliminary investigation, that the victim was struck by a DeCamp bus as she exited from it.
Authorities said that the bus did not stop.
Medical staff pronounced Moar dead at the scene at just before 6:50 p.m. police said
The investigation is active and ongoing.
