Newark officials announced the arrest of Shawn Bellinger, 33, of Newark, in connection with the theft of a motorized wheelchair on June 10.
According to police, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a wheelchair, stationed outside a store in the 100 block of Sussex Avenue, was stolen by a male suspect.
Detectives investigating this incident identified Shawn Bellinger as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Bellinger was arrested on June 22 without incident and faces a charge of theft.
The wheelchair was returned to its owner by 2nd Precinct members.
