Police took a woman in custody who was wanted for a late October shooting in newark.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose **Latesha Bittle, 27, of Newark**, in connection with a shooting on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
Director Ambrose said approximately 5 p.m., Newark Police responded to the area of Johnson Avenue and Stratford Place on a call of shots fired.
A 28-year old female victim had been shot at Ambrose said.
As part of their investigation, detectives determined that Latesha Bittle is a suspect in this shooting.
A $200,000.00 arrest warrant was issued for Bittle, who agreed with detectives of the Fugitive Apprehension Team to turn herself in.
Bittle was arrested today and is charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
