A confirmation has been made by a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office regarding a male pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in the city's West Ward has succumbed to his injuries.
The incident happened in the area of South Orange Avenue and Munn Avenue at around 8:25 p.m. sending emergency responders to the scene where they found the male victim suffering a severe head injury at that location.
According to the spokesperson, the victim was rushed to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The victim -who was initially reported to be in his 20's- was confirmed to be in his 50's authorities said.
