A 65-year-old man struck by a vehicle in Elizabeth last week, succumbed to his injuries on Monday, according to family and friends.
According to authorities, police and EMS were called to the northbound side of Route 1&9 near South Broad Street on Mar. 1st at around 5:15 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck at that location.
Emergency responders found the victim - 65-year-old Surinda Verma - severely injured on the ground, according to authorities.
Verma was taken to University Hospital in Newark where he remained critical until yesterday when he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and is not facing any charges, according to authorities.
