A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in downtown Newark is recovering from non-life threatening injuries at University Hospital early yesterday (Saturday) morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, officials at the medical center notified police when an unidentified person entered the hospital suffering injuries consistent with being struck by a car.
Newark 3rd Precicint units arrived and were told by the victim that they were hit by a car near the intersection of Market Street and McCarter Highway.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
No other injuries were reported.
