Port Authority officials are currently investigating a tragic event that occurred early Monday morning at the PATH Journal Square station.
At approximately 12:08 a.m., an unauthorized individual was struck and tragically killed by a westbound PATH train.
Emergency response teams, including the Port Authority Emergency Service Unit, EMS, and the Jersey City Fire Department, were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the individual was unfortunately pronounced dead.
The circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident are still unclear, and an in-depth investigation has been initiated to uncover the details surrounding the fatal encounter.
The Port Authority is working closely with local authorities to provide insights and ensure a comprehensive understanding of the events that transpired during the early hours of the day.
