A man was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday night while attempting to cross Route 21 North in Passaic, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.
At approximately 8:07 p.m., the Passaic Police Department responded to the area following reports of a pedestrian being hit by an Acura sedan.
The unidentified male was transported to St. Joseph's University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:50 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and immediately contacted 911.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities are expected to release further information as it becomes available.
