A city teen was transported to an area hospital early this morning after being shot during a break-in, according to police.
Police responded to a home on the 200 block of 12th Avenue around 2:50 a.m. for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.
The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where the victim is in stable condition.
Initial investigation, revealed that the victim was inside the home when he heard someone tampering with a window in another room of the home. When the victim entered the room, he encountered someone trying to enter the home.
The person attempting to enter then fired at the teen striking him in the arm.
