The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office spent Sunday investigating two shootings in Paterson that resulted in one fatality and injuries to at least three others.
In the first incident, an off-duty officer was alerted when two gunshot victims sought treatment at a local emergency department.
The victims reported that an armed suspect had opened fire in the area of Weiss and Chadwick Streets.
Police responding to the scene secured the area after discovering multiple shell casings and another male victim with a gunshot wound. One of these individuals was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In a separate incident, another victim was dropped off by a private vehicle at St. Joseph's Medical Center around 7:20 p.m.
This individual reported that armed assailants on a moped shot at him in the 100 block of Butler Street.
Both incidents are under active investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, and no arrests have been made.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing inquiries.
