A New York man was injured Saturday afternoon in a hit-and-run crash at an Elizabeth intersection, police said this morning.
Patrol units were dispatched to the intersection of Elmora Avenue and West Grand Street on a report of an auto vs. pedestrian at approximately 2:33 p.m. Saturday (April 9).
Cops arriving on the scene met with witnesses who stated that the victim, Edgard Orozco of Woodside, NY, was walking south on Elmora Avenue, crossed W. Grand (at the crosswalk) while the light was green when he was struck by a gray Nissan Altima.
The suspected vehicle immediately fled the scene.
The incident is currently under investigation.
Orozco was transported to Trinitas Hospital with non-life threatening injuries according to police.
He is currently listed in stable condition.
