Police are investigating an accident in Linden in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning.
According to police, officers responded to an auto/pedestrian accident at Elizabeth Avenue and N. Wood Avenue sometime around 6:27 this morning.
Upon arrival, police determined that as a 2013 Dodge Avenger was traveling west on E. Elizabeth Avenue through the intersection, it struck a 62-year-old Linden man who entered the intersection at the crosswalk.
The driver of the Dodge, a 55-year-old New York man, was not injured. However, the pedestrian who suffered a cut to his head,
was treated on scene by the Linden Fire Department ambulance.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian entered the crosswalk against the green light, said police.
No summonses were issued and the accident remains under investigation.
