NJ State Police officials are investigating a crash on the Garden State Parkway in Clark on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 1:53 p.m. at milepost 136.5 and prompted a quick response from NJ State Troopers.
According to the initial investigation, officials said Maxine L. Uecker, a 54-year-old from Port Jervis, NY, was driving a Chevrolet SUV and Jeffery S. Turner of Clark, NJ, was operating a Chevrolet pickup.
Police said both drivers were heading southbound.
According to Trooper Marchan, the collision happened when the Chevy SUV veered off the road to the right, hitting a guardrail.
This impact caused the SUV to reenter the road and collide with the front of the Chevrolet pickup.
The crash resulted in serious injuries for Uecker, who was ejected from her vehicle.
Tropper Marchan said Turner sustained minor injuries. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and no further details were provided.
