Authorities in Union County announced that a Plainfield man was indicted by a Union County Grand Jury for a shooting death that took place in Elizabeth on August 12th of this year.
Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said that Maurice I. Pierce was charged with 1st degree Murder, 2nd degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and 2nd degree Possession of a weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in connection with the fatal shooting of Jameer Outsey.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 12th, officials said, Elizabeth Police Officers responded to the area of North Broad Street and Magnolia Avenue after reports of a male with a gunshot wound.
Upon their arrival, authorities say, they located 27-year-old Outsey of Bridgewater, who was transported to a local area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
