Authorities in Atlantic County announced that Leon Green, 33, entered a plea in Superior Court this morning in connection with the fatal shooting of Yusef Abdullah, 22, in 2018.
Officials said the plea agreement calls for Green to serve 30 years in New Jersey State Prison.
The sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act, meaning Green must serve 85% before becoming eligible for parole, officials say.
According to officials, on June 1, 2018, the defendant entered the Fox Manor Hotel in Atlantic City armed with a loaded handgun, which he fired into a crowded lobby.
Authorities say Abdullah, who was not the intended target of the shooting, was wounded and died weeks later.
The defendant will be sentenced on May 2, 2024, officials stated.
