A 28-year-old Newark woman was shot at by a group of young men in Linden, police said this afternoon.
According to the woman, she was walking in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts, located at 1158 E. St. George Avenue, when she was approached by a group of young men yesterday at approximately 5:47 p.m.
After words were exchanged between the woman and one of the men, he pulled out a handgun and fired a round in her direction. The woman however was unharmed.
As the group fled from the parking lot, the woman got in her car and followed them to the 1100 block of Middlesex Street, where they further dispersed.
When the police arrived, they were directed to a suspicious unoccupied 2007 Honda that was blocking a driveway and had the windows open.
The officers searched the vehicle, but did not locate any weapons before towing the car from the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing by detectives.
