Authorities in Essex County announced that the Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating a Newark shooting that left one man dead and another injured.
According to Newark Police, on May 22, at 12:10 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Riverview Court in Newark.
Police found Jamid Hardgrove, 22, of Newark, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say he was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 1:02 a.m.
The other male victim was taken to University Hospital and treated for non-fatal injuries.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
No arrests have been made.
