UPDATE: Newark Police Seeks Help Identifying Suspects in Aggravated Assault Stabbing

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in identifying the male suspects in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Thursday, February 13.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. stated that at approximately 9 p.m., police responded to the 900 block of Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard on a call of a sick or injured person.

Responding officers were advised that a man who had been stabbed was transported to University Hospital by a Good Samaritan in a personal vehicle, according to Newark officials. 

Upon arrival at the hospital, Newark authorities said, officers learned that the victim was in critical condition and required emergency surgery.

Following the surgery, the victim’s condition was upgraded to stable condition, Newark Police said.

According to Newark officials, detectives investigating this incident reviewed surveillance footage that shows the victim with two males dressed in all black who walked away from the victim, heading north on Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard.
