According to Newark Police officials, at approximately 5:20 p.m. today, police responded to Irving Avenue near Weequahic Avenue on a call of shots fired and a stabbing.
Responding officers located a male victim who had been stabbed and a shell casing at that location.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
No shooting victims were located.
This incident remains under investigation.
