A 20-year-old Newark resident was killed late Friday night after exiting a moving vehicle on Route 78, according to New Jersey State Police.
Authorities say the incident occurred at approximately 11:11 p.m. on April 11, near Exit 55 on the westbound side of the highway in Newark.
State Police spokesperson Jeffrey Lebron stated that Jason Ellis had exited a Nissan Rogue while it was still in motion.
Ellis sustained fatal injuries as a result of the incident, officials confirmed.
Further details about what led to the fatal exit have not been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
