UPDATE: Newark Man Arrested for Bloomfield Shooting

According to police, on Sunday, February 7, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Bloomfield Police units responded to 547 Bloomfield Avenue (PLUGG Studio) on report of a shooting that occurred.

Upon police arrival, it was determined that a male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right hand.

Police say the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment before police arrival.

Detective Bureau personnel responded to the scene along with Bloomfield Police Crime Scene Units and gathered key pieces of evidence from the scene.

Bloomfield Detective Bureau personnel recovered video surveillance from the surrounding area and worked diligently investigating this incident.

 

According to police, after their investigation, detectives were able to obtain a positive identification of Mr. Andre King from Newark, NJ as the shooter.

Police say at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, detectives were conducting surveillance and observed Mr. King exit his residence and enter a vehicle that was registered to his fiancé.

Bloomfield Detective units apprehended Mr. King on an active warrant.

Police say Mr. King was processed and charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a weapon & Possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility, awaiting to appear before a Judge.
