A man found inside a Newark Ironbound section residence suffering a stab injury has died from his wound.
Newark Police officers were called to the 40's block of Jackson Street, less than a half block from the Jackson Street Bridge, for an altercation that involved two people inside a residence at around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning according to preliminary reports.
When police arrived at that location, they found a male victim bleeding heavily after suffering a severe stab wound to his arm.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where he died on Monday.
According to a statement from The Essex County Prosecutor's Office, they are handling the investigation but could not release the identity of the victim until a next of kin is notified.
Residents on Jackson Street said that the suspect is a woman the incident is domestic in nature.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
