Update: New Brunswick Shooting Kills One Man; Injures Another

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Anthony Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department announced today that police are investigating the death of a man who was shot on a city street earlier this week.

Marcos Hernandez, 33, of Passaic died on March 9, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound.

A 27-year-old man, who also was shot, remains in hospital care.

Both men were taken to the hospital after they were shot on Drift Street in New Brunswick at Monday around 6:30 p.m.

Detective Drew Weiss of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Craig Marchak of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating.

No arrests have been made but the investigation is active and is continuing.
