UPDATE: Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills 24-Year-Old West Orange Man

An early morning fatal crash on Rt. 280 has NJ State Police investigating.

According to authorities, at around 12:42 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of 280 near mile marker 6.5 in West Orange, a Honda Civic vehicle that was driven by 24-year-old Johan Rohan of West Orange somehow lost control and struck a man who was standing outside of his tractor trailer that was parked on the right side of the highway.

Authorities said, Rohan's vehicle then veered back into the roadway where it then collided with a Hyundai moments later causing minor injuries to the driver of the Hyundai.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene where Rohan was pronounced dead and the pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital suffering serious injuries.

The crash caused the highway to close for several hours for the police investigation.
