New Jersey State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving two motorcycles that occurred in Ocean County on Sunday.
According to a preliminary investigation, the crash happened around 1:00 p.m. near milepost 81.7 on the Garden State Parkway in Toms River Township.
Authorities report that a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound on the right shoulder of the Parkway while an SSR dirt bike was entering the acceleration lane from Exit 81.
At milepost 81.7, the Kawasaki collided with the SSR, causing both vehicles to overturn and eject both drivers.
The rider of the Kawasaki, identified as 26-year-old Antonio Caprara from Beachwood, NJ, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
The driver of the SSR, 49-year-old Lenny Ritorto from Toms River, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
