Authorities have released the identify of the Elizabeth man killed early this morning in crash in Linden.
Police responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of US #1 Northbound and Morses Mill Road in Linden at approximately 2:06 a.m.
According to police, a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Philip A. Loureiro, 39, of Elizabeth, collided with a 2001 Peterbuilt tractor trailer.
Loureiro sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A follow up investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau and the Union County Prosecutors Office will be conducted.
There are no pending charges at the present time.
