Police in Linden are continuing to investigate what caused a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Linden on Wednesday evening.
According to a statement released by police, at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to Roselle Street in the area of Monmouth Avenue on reports of a severe motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
Police say preliminary reports indicate that the motorcyclist was driving a 2004 Suzuki north on Roselle Street when he collided with a 2007 Honda CRV.
Medical personnel pronounced the driver of the motorcycle dead on the scene. Police say the driver of the vehicle was treated on scene then airlifted to Newark University Hospital in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Department Traffic Bureau, and anyone with information urged to contact Inv. Peter Kozak at (908) 474-8505.
