Update: According to police, Derrick was found early Wednesday morning at a relative's home in Newark. He is safe and was re-united with his family.
Police in Union are asking for the public's help in locating a missing 12-year-old boy.
According to police, Derrick goes to the Ann St. School in Newark, but just moved to Union.
He was last seen at the Boy's Club on Jeanette Avenue yesterday. He has not returned home or gone to school after getting into a disagreement with his guardian. He was last seen wearing a dark colored coat, navy blue Ann Street school gym uniform, with Ann Street written on the pants and shirt and navy blue Nike basketball sneakers.
Police in both Union and Newark are working together to locate him.
