Authorities in Essex County are investigating a stabbing incident that left a man dead inside an apartment in East Orange Tuesday morning.
Just before 9 a.m., East Orange Police responded to a building in the 200 block of South Burnet Street to perform a welfare check on a man.
Upon arrival, police entered the apartment and found Mr. Kenneth Wilkerson, 41, suffering multiple stab wounds.
Wilkerson was pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m.
The motive for the attack is under investigation and no suspects have been implicated in the deadly stabbing.
