Authorities in Middlesex County announced that Danny McEaddy, 40, of Sicklerville, was found guilty by a jury yesterday, April 18, 2024, for the sexual assault of a woman that occurred on September 21, 2014, in the Township of Woodbridge.Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said on September 21, 2014, an adult female reported being sexually assaulted by an unknown male who had unlawfully forced his way into her apartment in Keasbey, NJ.
Officials said based on analysis the DNA analysis of biological samples found at the crime scene, McEaddy was identified as the man who sexually assaulted the woman.
According to officials, on March 23, 2023, McEaddy was located and placed under arrest for the sexual assault.
During the week-long trial before the Honorable Pedro J. Jimenez, J.S.C., that began on April 8, 2024, Middlesex County SVU Section Chief Lynne Seborowski and Assistant Prosecutor Nicolette Spallanzani presented evidence and testimony showing that Danny McEaddy was the individual that sexually assaulted the victim in her residence, officials stated.
Officials say on April 18, 2024, McEaddy was convicted of first-degree Kidnapping, first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, second-degree Burglary, second-degree Sexual Assault, third-degree Aggravated Assault, third-degree Criminal Restraint, and third-degree Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact.Authorities say the initial investigation in 2014 was led by Sergeant Richard Yanak of the Woodbridge Police Department and Lieutenant Greg Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Upon the defendant's apprehension, Detective Thomas Ratajczak of the Woodbridge Police Department and Detective Lauren Leyva of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office were instrumental in bringing the case to trial. McEaddy is scheduled to be sentenced before Superior Court Judge Pedro Jimenez on July 25, 2024, officials said.
