Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Orange Township Police Director Todd Warren announced today the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the Orange Police Department are in the preliminary stages of investigating the fatal shooting of two people.
This afternoon, an adult male, believed to be in his twenties, and a two-year-old boy were fatally shot in the 300 block of Cleveland Street in Orange.
A vehicle that was found burning several blocks away is being investigated as the possible vehicle used in the shooting but has not been confirmed as the vehicle at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
