UPDATE: Man Charged with Shooting His Twin Sister Dead in NJ

Bergen County authorities have arrested 26-year-old Jonathan D. Hagley of New York, NY, in connection with the fatal shooting of his twin sister, Naomi Hagley, at a Teaneck residence.

The violent incident occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m. today.

AdTeaneck police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a home on Hickory Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Naomi Hagley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities quickly identified the suspect as Jonathan Hagley, a family member who had fled the scene on foot. Officers from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bogota Police Department were all involved in the search for the suspect.

Hagley was located several blocks away by Bogota police officers assisting in the investigation.

Bergen County officials said a handgun with a defaced serial number was recovered near the crime scene.

Following the investigation, Jonathan Hagley was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, possession of a defaced firearm, and obstructing justice.AdHe is currently being held at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, pending a detention hearing.

The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to gather further details.
